Consult III software for Nissan on Win XP Installtion

We received a customer feedback “I failed to install Nissan Consult 3 software. My computer cannot identify the Consult 3 device, a message “unknown device” always appeared. How to install the drive? I also tried to install on Windows XP Pro, Windows Vista and Windows 7, but it also prompted “Program cannot be installed on the current operating system”. So this article will share the right installation guides with you.

Please kindly notice: the Nissan Consult 3 software only can be installed on Windows XP. Please follow the step-by-step guide to install.

Step 1: Install Consult-iii_V9.21.01.00.00_setup

Step 2: Install Nissan Consult iii

Step 3: Run Nissan Consult iii

In detail…

Step 1: Install Consult-iii_V9.21.01.00.00_setup

Select “Consult-iii_V9.21.01.00.00_setup.exe”file

Click on “Next”-> “Next”-> “Install”

Installing Nissan Consult iii (AVTOTOOLS)…

Finishing installation

Select “I accept the terms of the license agreement” and click on “Next”

Tick off the option “NORTHAMERICA MARKET (NAM)”

Then “Next”… “Next”

Select your country

Select the application language

Confirm your information and click “Next” to begin copying files

Installing the Consult-iii…

Finish installation

Setup the Nissan Consult III is completed, click “Finish” to exit

Step 2: Install Nissan Consult iii

Now start to install the Consult iii device…

Tick off “Yes, this time only” and click “Next” to continue

Select the recommended option to install and click “Next”

Select the first “JCI-1B-Alliance Vehicle Interface” and click “Next”

Finish installing the software

Step 3: Run Nissan Consult iii

Go to desktop to open the “CONSULT III” software

It will prompt “There are no registered VI/MI. Please contact your administrator”

Click “OK”

Click on “SUB” Icon

Click on “Administrator” icon

Enter the password and click “OK”

Click on “VIMI Registration”

Input the VI serial number and click “Set”

The VI serial number will show in the VI list

Select the VI list and click “Connect”

Checking the firmware version…

Select vehicle name and model year

Confirm the vehicle information

Renew the system…

Then you can use Consult iii to diagnose Nissan cars

Microtronik HexTag programmer Repair BMW FRM3

Here share the guides and tips to repair BMW FRM3 by Microtronik HexTag programmer when error appears on EEPROM.

Procedure:

Go to Hexprog Software main menu

This is Microtronik HexProg version 1.06, the latest version is V1.0.8

Select “On Bench Programmer”-> “BMW”-> “FRM”-> “FRM3 E Series”

Click on “Wiring”

Solder wires to FRM based on the wiring diagram using BDM cable below

Click on “EEE”->“Read”

Error on reading EEPROM shows the files in FRM3 is corrupted

Click on “P-FLASH” and then click on “Read”

Reading P-FLASH…

To check the communication with FRM you can try reading the P-FLASH

Note: Stop reading once we know it’s communicating

Click on “EEE” -> “Read” again

Click on “Repair”

A FRM Repair message appears on the Microtronik Hexprog screen

“This function is used to repair corrupted FRM EEPROM data. It will try to recover the original data from D-Flash, if it failed please contact Microtronik for help”

Click on “Repair” of the prompt to fix the corrupted files

Note: in this step, Hextag read D-Flash and convert it to EEPROM on the background

FRM EEPROM data has been repaired!

When it shows the FRM Repair prompt again, just close it

Now we can read EEE shows FRM is back to normal state

Please code FRM using Autothex after repair

Preparation:

Car: Benz C204

Procedure:

Select “Mercedes”-> “Maybach”-> “SmartVIN”

Gateway data initializing…

Press “F3” to complete.

Select “Control Models”->“Body”-> “CGW – Central gateway”

Select “Read Codes” (Other options: ECU information, clear codes, Live Data)

Read Live data

Manual selection

First select “Up to 08/2006”

Left-hand steering (or right- hand steering)

Vehicle

Select 2nd option (after 09/2006 year).

Foxwell NT530 settings:

Incl. Language, Unit, Shortcuts, Display test, Keypad Test and About

Select “About” and have Boot version, serial number, copyright etc.

Note: when you want to reset another language, just provide the serial number to the seller and they will help process.

Result: Nt530 OBD scanner can work for Benz C4 successfully, incl. read, clear the trouble codes and read live data after accessing to CGW – Central gateway

Test 1: YANHUA Mini ACDP read Volvo KVM data without soldering

Preparation:

Yanhua Mini ACDP master key programmer

OBP+ICP adapter

20 pin cable

Volvo license (Yanhua Mini ACDP module 12)

Volvo KVM module

Take out the Volvo KVM module from the car

When to read Volvo data from KVM and CEM by YANHUA Mini ACDP?

To program Volvo 5-button or 6-button smart key with the original key or all the keys lost. You have to read CEM and KVM data by Mini ACDP key programming tool first. Then write key by uploading password data.

Which Volvo car models does YANHUA Mini ACDP support?

Yanhua Mini ACDP with module 12 supports the following Volvo key programming models:

5-button remote key add key and all keys lost

6-button smart key add key and all keys lost

Volvo S60 (2010-2018)

How to Read and Write N13 ISN by Updating CGDI BMW Authorization

The previous article has introduced two ways to read and write N13/N20/N55 ISN by CGDI prog BMW without opening the DME shell. The easier way is to obtain the CGDI BMW authorization. But some customers also don’t know how to use when getting the authorization.

Here share the relevant guide to the CGDI device owners.

The method to read/write N20, N55 and B38 is same as N13, here take N13 as an example.

Preparation:

DME Model: BMW N13

Device: CGDI BMW programmer+ N13 read ISN authorization

One professional OBD cable made by CG Company which is special for reading and writing DME ISN

Procedure:

Follow the wiring diagram in the CGDI BMW software

Connect 12V, CAN-L and CAN-H, GPT-0, GPT-1 and GND cables in order

Supply 12V power to CGDI BMW device, and ensure network connection

Go to CGDI BMW software

Click on “N13/N20/N55/B38 read ISN”

Select “N13” chip and click “OK”

There are 5 options in the main menu: Wiring Diagram, Identify, Read ISN, Write ISN and Back

Click on “Identify”

Read out the chip name, ISN and hardware ID

Click on “Read ISN”

Reading DFLASH…

Read DFLASH and ISN successfully

Copy the ISN

Click on “Write ISN”

Read DFLASH success

Save DFLASH data

Backup data success

Paste the ISN has been read

To distinguish the ISN from the original one

Change the last two digits to “88”, and click on “OK”

Write ISN success

Click on “Read ISN” again

Confirm CGDI Prog BMW key programmer write N13 ISN successfully

Firstly, thanks to @Azzatec for making this program, he claimed he was not responsible for any damage. The program he wrote just grabs the parameters it gets from DAS, prints them out to a console and starts HHT Standalone with it. It closes after HHT is terminated.

He used this on his car and it works with XDOS 07.2018 on 32bit Windows 7 and a Chinese SD Connect clone (for example:

He did not test this with trucks (NFZ).

-Backup your files before replacing stuff…

-This is only intended for systems where HHT hasn’t been integrated yet.

How to use:

1. Copy the HHT folder to C:

2. Replace hhtcall.s in …\DAS\trees\pkw\programm\hht_link

3. Copy the files from hhtwin_start to …\DAS\bin

4. Edit HHTWin.INI to your needs (it’s preconfigured with SLAVE=PARTT for SDConnect)

Known problems:

-If the computer is not connected to the multiplexer you might get some DLL error and have to close HHT manually.
